Comienza justo al este del casco antiguo y se extiende hasta el pueblo de Skaleta, a 12 km.<\/p>\n<p>Es una amplia franja de arena dorada con un mar tranquilo y aguas cristalinas. Hay zonas p\u00fablicas y otras ocupadas por bares y restaurantes. Al extremo occidental hay una peque\u00f1a \u00e1rea verde.<\/p>\n<p>Los hoteles m\u00e1s grandes de Rethymno se encuentran a lo largo de la playa. Muchos ofrecen balcones con vistas al mar y tumbonas con sombrillas. Comienza en el Jard\u00edn Municipal y llega hasta el bosque junto a la carretera nacional 90.<\/p>\n<p>La ciudad nueva es mucho menos tur\u00edstica que las otras dos zonas. Es m\u00e1s local, lo que la convierte en un excelente lugar para conocer a los residentes y comer en restaurantes aut\u00e9nticos.<\/p>\n<p>Si est\u00e1s intentando evitar las multitudes, al\u00f3jate en esta zona. Los hoteles tienen precios razonables y estar\u00e1s a pocos pasos tanto del casco antiguo como de la playa. Es un hotel elegante con piscina y balcones. Algunas habitaciones incluso tienen vistas a la hist\u00f3rica Mezquita Veli Pasha.
